Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US entertainer Finn, who appeared in popular television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a statement.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team called "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
