Cars in Germany's Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered many other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the substance was likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; officials are not yet cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to resolve the case" and have requested to the public for details.

A high-ranking official stated the incident rendered him without words and required to be addressed quickly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on social media, mentioning the murder of nine people by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in 2020.
