Netflix Chooses Perfect Actor for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
The Secret Organization is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced this week that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bon Clay. The role has the ability to change into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their right hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a rendition of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag artist, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the original manga and cartoon version.
Escola joins a number of recently announced actors who will portray the organization to life, including head Sir Crocodile, brought to life by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as the monarch of Alabasta.
Even though Bon Clay is a key figure of the group, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a significant shift in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the story’s structure.
The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the part. Besides their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on the tenth of March, 2026.
