Triple award winner Jokic suffers a 'devastating' knee injury.
Thrice-crowned NBA MVP Jokic sustained a "gut-wrenching" knee injury when the Nuggets lost 147-123 at the Miami Heat.
The star player injured himself late in the first half during an unintentional collision with team-mate Spencer Jones.
His teammate landed on the footwear of Jokic, who promptly went down to the court holding his leg.
The veteran player, who leads the league season in boards and dimes, had 21 points and eight dimes in the matchup prior to incurring the problem.
He will have an scan on the following day to determine the severity of the problem.
"Right away, Jokic realized he was hurt," commented Nuggets head coach Adelman.
"Injuries are part of the game. Whoever who suffers an injury, that's gut-wrenching, most notably a player as special as Jokic. More information will come tomorrow."
"We will continue together. Clearly, right now, I'm focused primarily about Jokic as a person and the letdown of experiencing a situation of that nature."
